Unemployment Insurance Tax System (UITS)
Iowa Workforce Development launched the Unemployment Insurance Tax System (UITS) on January 8, 2007. UITS allows employers doing business in the State of Iowa to electronically file the quarterly Employer's Contribution & Payroll Report and to pay Unemployment Insurance Contributions due online.Reports for wages paid in the current quarter and the four previous quarters may be filed using this online system. Please note: Each report must be filed and processed in the order due before the next report can be filed online.
Before accessing the system, you must have an established Unemployment Insurance account number and know your Total Rate (State Experience Rate plus Reserve Rate) from your last filed report. Complete the Report to Determine Liability (Form 60-0126) to apply for an Iowa Unemployment Insurance account number.
Step-by-step instructions have been provided in the UITS User's Guide. Iowa Workforce Development recommends you review and print this manual before you begin. You may view Frequently Asked Questions about the Unemployment Insurance Tax System (UITS) for further information.
If you are interested in learning more about this system, refer to the UITS Seminar Schedule listed below for your area.
